Casparian Fund Grants for Continuing Education
George Casparian was a communicant and leader at Trinity Church, Fulton, Kentucky, and
the former Purchase Area Regional Council. He was a member of Trustees and Council of the
Diocese of Kentucky, a deputy to numerous diocesan conventions and a deputy to the General
Convention of our church. He was active in all aspects of the church’s work.
George was a frequent visitor of the sick and shut-in of his community, a Eucharistic Minister, lay
reader and treasurer of the local ministerial alliance. He was involved in many ministries of the
church. This scholarship was established to honor him. By his life, witness, and generosity he
continually called people to do the work of ministry; we seek by this means to follow his example.
Limited scholarship assistance is available, in the name of George Casparian, for lay
members of the church who seek training in ministry. George did not limit his efforts, nor do we
limit the areas for which applications will be accepted. However, the fund was established to assist
persons who wish to get training or to improve their skills in ministry. Approval of applications will
be made by the clergy of the Four Rivers Deanery, but any lay person in the Diocese of Kentucky
may apply.
